Short Summary:
Zscaler is seeking a Software Development Engineer to build and support the Jira Data Center platform, focusing on custom apps, integrations, and migration to Atlassian Cloud. This role is ideal for early-career professionals looking to take ownership of real systems.

Responsibilities:
- Develop & Maintain Core Extensions: Build, test, and maintain custom Jira Data Center apps, plugins, and scripted extensions using Java, Groovy, and the Atlassian SDK.
- Integrate Ecosystem Tools: Build and maintain integrations between Jira and surrounding systems including Confluence, ServiceNow, Slack, CI/CD pipelines, and SSO using REST APIs and webhooks.
- Partner with Stakeholders: Collaborate with business and engineering partners to translate requirements into robust Jira solutions.
- Drive Platform Migration: Contribute to Jira Data Center to Cloud migration through app compatibility assessments and post-migration validation.
- Maintain Platform Operations: Support ongoing operations, including platform upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting production issues.

Requirement:
- AI & Workflow Curiosity: Demonstrated curiosity and active exploration of AI tools.
- Experience Level: 1 to 3 years of software development experience.
- Core Technical Skills: Proficiency in Java, solid SQL skills, and comfort with a scripting language such as Groovy, Python, or Bash.
- API & Tooling Familiarity: Experience with REST APIs and Git-based version control.
- Workflow Platform Exposure: Hands-on exposure to Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms.
- Ambiguity to Execution: Ability to break down ambiguous requests into concrete engineering tasks.
