The Body Shop Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the collision repair facility, ensuring every customer receives exceptional service while repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role oversees the repair process from estimate to delivery, manages technicians and office staff, maintains production schedules, communicates with customers and insurance partners, and ensures the shop meets profitability, safety, and performance goals. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who is organized, customer-focused, and committed to delivering an outstanding repair experience.

Slark's Collision Center is seeking an experienced, motivated, and customer-focused Body Shop Manager to lead our collision repair facility. This individual will oversee all aspects of daily operations, ensuring vehicles are repaired safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards while providing an exceptional customer experience.

The Body Shop Manager is responsible for managing production, leading employees, maintaining profitability, communicating with customers and insurance partners, and ensuring the shop consistently delivers on its commitment to quality repairs and outstanding service.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, motivate, and develop technicians and office staff.
  • Create a positive, professional, and accountable work environment.
  • Conduct employee coaching, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Promote teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.

Operations Management

  • Oversee the complete repair process from estimate to final delivery.
  • Schedule and monitor workflow to maximize productivity and cycle time.
  • Ensure repairs meet OEM procedures and industry standards.
  • Maintain quality control throughout every stage of the repair.
  • Monitor shop cleanliness, organization, and equipment maintenance.

Customer Service

  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience from start to finish.
  • Keep customers informed throughout the repair process.
  • Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain strong customer satisfaction and online review ratings.

Insurance & Vendor Relations

  • Work effectively with insurance companies, adjusters, and fleet accounts.
  • Review estimates and supplements for accuracy.
  • Coordinate parts ordering and vendor relationships.
  • Ensure proper documentation for all repairs.

Financial Performance

  • Monitor labor sales, gross profit, and overall shop profitability.
  • Control expenses while maintaining repair quality.
  • Improve production efficiency and cycle times.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure OSHA and workplace safety standards are followed.
  • Maintain compliance with OEM repair procedures and industry best practices.
  • Ensure proper documentation and recordkeeping.

Qualifications

  • Previous collision repair management experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of collision repair procedures and estimating.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Computer proficiency and familiarity with estimating and management software.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of CCC ONE or similar estimating software.
  • Understanding of ADAS systems and calibration requirements.
  • Experience working with DRP and insurance partners.
  • Ability to coach and develop employees.
  • Strong conflict resolution and customer service skills.
