Short Summary:
The Kentucky Chapter Director helps develop and carry out the policies, priorities, and objectives of the Sierra Club in the state, working closely with the Executive Committee on various chapter programs and operations.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate and contribute to the development of the Chapter’s strategic, programmatic, and financial goals.
- Develop annual fundraising goals and budget, and evaluate Chapter performance.
- Recruit and build volunteer teams based on programmatic and operational priorities.
- Manage chapter staff and ensure compliance with Sierra Club policies and legal requirements.
- Coordinate media and public relations strategies.
- Engage in outreach and coalition-building.
- Attend Chapter meetings and assist in planning core conservation efforts and programs.
Requirement:
- Experience in grassroots organizing, training, and motivating volunteer teams.
- Strong financial management skills, including budget preparation and analysis.
- Excellent donor relations skills and fundraising experience.
- Skillful communicator with organizational conflict resolution experience.
- Valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and proof of auto insurance required.
