Short Summary:
Shield AI is a defense-tech company focused on protecting service members and civilians with intelligent systems. The Autonomy Capabilities Team develops functionality to automate platforms for mission objectives, emphasizing both fundamentals and software integration skillsets.
Responsibilities:
- Multi-Objective Optimization: Use advanced optimization strategies for decision making and resource scheduling in multi-satellite missions.
- Weapons Target Assignment: Implement approaches for motion planning for space vehicles and interceptors.
- Advance the State of the Art: Pioneer topics in optimal control and information-aware planning.
- Rigorous Software Development: Develop high-performance software modules for mid-to-high TRL insertions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with teams to ensure seamless integration of autonomy solutions.
- Deployment & Test Support: Deploy capabilities to space vehicles and analyze mission logs.
- R&D and Road-mapping: Research and prototype new algorithms and propose solutions.
- Travel Requirement: Travel around 10-15% of the year.
Requirement:
- Minimum of 7 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years with a Master’s; or 4 years with a PhD.
- Proficiency in C++ and Python, familiarity with RTOS.
- Significant background in robotic technology areas related to control systems and optimization.
- Experience with unmanned system technologies and simulation tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication abilities.
- Ability to obtain a SECRET clearance or higher.
