Short Summary:
Serenity Lane is seeking a compassionate and experienced Physician Assistant (PA) to provide medical care to patients receiving outpatient Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment. The PA will work under the direction of the Medical Director, providing comprehensive medical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive medical evaluations, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for SUD patients.
- Assess medical needs, withdrawal symptoms, level of care, and treatment appropriateness.
- Manage and monitor medications, including medication-assisted treatment and opioid treatment protocols.
- Evaluate and manage co-occurring medical conditions, chronic pain, and behavioral health concerns.
- Review laboratory and diagnostic results and coordinate appropriate follow-up or referrals.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, counselors, and other members of the treatment team.
- Provide patient and family education regarding medical conditions, medications, substance use, recovery, and wellness.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with applicable professional, regulatory, and organizational requirements.
Requirement:
- Master's degree from an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current, unrestricted Oregon Physician Assistant license.
- Current NCCPA certification.
- Current DEA registration and prescribing credentials.
- Current BLS certification.
- Valid driver's license.
- Clinical experience providing medical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and care coordination.
- Knowledge and competency in family practice, internal medicine, and/or addiction medicine.
- Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
