Short Summary:
As Senior Manager, Global Supply Manager, you will own strategic sourcing, supplier relationships, and cost management for a portfolio of Samsara's hardware direct materials across the end-to-end product lifecycle. This role involves commercial negotiations, building supply-continuity strategies, and partnering with Engineering and Product on New Product Introduction (NPI).
Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end strategic sourcing for an assigned portfolio of direct-material commodities.
- Lead commercial negotiations and defend Samsara's position on cost pass-throughs.
- Build and execute supply-continuity strategies.
- Drive New Product Introduction (NPI) sourcing in partnership with Engineering and Product.
- Establish and maintain a supplier 'chessboard' / JDM strategy.
- Own quarter-over-quarter cost locks and PPV reduction.
- Manage supplier performance for quality, delivery, cost, and innovation.
- Bring AI into the procurement toolkit.
- Partner cross-functionally with Legal and Operations Engineering.
- Mentor and develop analysts and supply managers.
- Champion Samsara's cultural principles.
Requirement:
- 8+ years in strategic sourcing, procurement, or global supply management.
- Experience sourcing hardware/electro-mechanical components.
- Proven track record on NPI sourcing.
- Strong should-cost and cost-modeling capability.
- Experience managing global suppliers and contract manufacturers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to travel internationally (up to ~25% of the time).
