The Job

We’re looking for a Social Media Specialist to join our team in Woodland, CA. Our customers include ranchers, farmers, off-gridders, pond enthusiasts, and even national forests, and we ship pumps to all 50 states, so a lot of different people are engaging with our content.

Essential job duties:

  • Develop and manage social media strategy and day-to-day execution across our platforms (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook) to build brand presence and grow our audience
  • Create and curate engaging content (photo, video, copy) for RPS Solar Pumps and RPS Water Pumps.
  • Build and maintain an active editorial calendar across all social channels and schedule consistent posts
  • Monitor and manage community engagement, responding to audience comments and messages, and fostering genuine relationships with our rural and ag audience.
  • Track social performance metrics (engagement rate, reach, watch time, follower growth, web traffic)
  • Report performance insights that identify successful content and areas for growth
  • Analyze social performance data and translate findings into actionable recommendations that improve content effectiveness and engagement
  • Identify platform and content trends relevant to rural and agricultural audiences, and monitor best-in-class brands and creators in the space.
  • Coordinate paid social campaigns, including audience segmentation and A/B testing to inform targeting and channel strategy.
  • Support influencer, ambassador and partner social collaborations.Optimize content for SEO and platform discovery optimization (titles, tags, hashtags)Adapt and repurpose content so it feels native to each channel (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok)
  • Aid in lead generation across organic and paid channels by building content funnels
  • Partner with the Content Marketing Specialist on A/B testing strategy for ads and organic content, then apply what wins to targeting and channel strategy
  • Conduct ongoing competitive analysis and monitor best-in-class brands, creators, and emerging platform trends
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Customer Support, and Sales teams
  • Comfortable shooting content in outdoor and agricultural settings, including farms and ranches; must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and work in variable weather conditions

You might be a great fit if you:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 1 to 3 years of social media and/or marketing experience
  • Have hands-on photo, video, and copywriting skills with a proven eye for what engages an audience and what looks good on video and photo
  • Understand audience segmentation and can build and run an A/B testing strategy across both ads and content; you know how to test, read the results, and optimize
  • Are organized, detail-oriented, and a strong note taker who can run an editorial calendar
  • Have experience with analytics tools like Google Analytics and YouTube Analytics, and can translate data into clear, actionable recommendations
  • Have experience supporting or coordinating paid social campaigns and are comfortable working across teams and asking questions to learn quickly
  • Can leverage AI tastefully and in line with our brand guidelines, using it to boost workflow efficiency and spark ideation without losing the authentic voice our audience connects with
  • Must have a portfolio to share, with examples of social channels you’ve grown or campaigns you’ve run
  • Bonus points if you have experience with influencer, dealer, or partner marketing/collaboration programs.
  • Bonus points if you have experience with Shopify, WordPress, affiliate/UGC programs, or DTC ecommerce
  • Extra bonus if you have a background in outdoor living, ranching, or agriculture
  • Can troubleshoot creatively and think like a customer
  • Believe in rural resilience
