Short Summary:
Roku is seeking a Senior Counsel, Employment and Labor to provide strategic guidance on employment, labor, benefits, and related matters across the UK, EMEA, and global operations. The role involves partnering with various teams to translate legal requirements into actionable advice, drafting agreements, managing claims, and ensuring compliance with evolving legislation.
Responsibilities:
- Advise on employment matters including hiring, performance management, grievances, and compliance.
- Counsel on agency worker engagement, reasonable accommodations, and employee privacy.
- Develop and maintain a global employment and labor framework, including policies and procedures.
- Research and monitor employment legislation, implementing compliance strategies.
- Review and advise on contractual agreements with third-party service providers.
- Draft and negotiate employment agreements and other documentation.
- Manage employment-related claims and litigation globally.
- Assist with employee training programs and additional legal projects as needed.
Requirement:
- Qualified legal professional with 6+ years of post-qualification experience in employment and labor matters.
- Deep knowledge of UK employment laws; exposure to EMEA jurisdictions preferred.
- Prior in-house legal experience strongly preferred.
- Experience in technology, entertainment, or content production industries preferred.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication skills and proactive approach to process improvements.
