Short Summary:
The Global Head of Clinical Safety, Development and Marketed Medicines provides global strategic leadership across early development and late-stage/marketed assets, shaping Roche’s clinical safety and risk management strategies across all therapeutic areas and modalities.
Responsibilities:
- Direct the global strategy for proactive safety and risk management, aligning asset strategies with Target Product Profiles (TPPs) and Clinical Development Plans (CDPs).
- Oversee early-to-late phase safety transitions, optimizing risk minimization strategies and personalized safety approaches.
- Ensure effective representation on key governance bodies and lead safety due diligence for portfolio decisions.
- Collaborate closely with PDS peers and broader R&D groups to drive agile, scientific safety approaches.
- Serve as the global point of escalation for critical portfolio-level safety issues.
- Partner with PDS leadership to manage capacity, talent deployment, and resource allocation.
- Drive capability development initiatives in safety science and pharmacovigilance.
- Role model Roche Values and Leadership Commitments, fostering a high-performance, inclusive culture.
Requirement:
- MD (or equivalent) with relevant board certification/eligibility and significant clinical experience.
- Post-graduate qualifications or certifications in relevant fields are strongly desired.
- Extensive experience (typically 15+ years) in the biopharmaceutical industry or clinical/medical research.
- Proven track record of senior leadership and managing high-performing, diverse organizations.
- Direct experience leading clinical safety strategy for complex development programs.
- Thorough understanding of early clinical development, GCP-safety regulations, and global pharmacovigilance standards.
- Outstanding conceptual and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to influence senior executives.
- Willingness to travel internationally (>30%).
