Job description
Position:
Unity Developer
Company:
RealityJam
Compensation:
Competitive, negotiable salary
Location:
Ukraine
Employment type:
Fulltime
Work Arrangement:
Fully remote
Short Summary:
Realityjam (Virtual Reality Jam Ltd) is a UK-based game development studio focused on creating ambitious online worlds and multiplayer game development. They are currently developing their flagship title, 5th Dimension, a large-scale MMO.
Responsibilities:
- Architect and implement core MMO systems: player state, world persistence, inventory, combat, quest logic, and live-service features.
- Design scalable, maintainable Unity code following SOLID principles, with performance and multiplayer concurrency in mind.
- Define and enforce engineering standards, code review practices, and technical documentation across the project.
- Own the game client build pipeline, version control strategy, and CI/CD integration.
- Integrate and extend server-side .NET services powering real-time multiplayer gameplay.
Requirement:
- Strong, demonstrable experience with Unity (C#) — shipped titles or substantial in-development projects.
- Solid .NET / C# backend experience, ideally with ASP.NET Core, REST APIs, or game service architecture.
- Experience working on multiplayer or online games — networking, state synchronisation, lag compensation.
- Proficiency with version control (Git) and agile/iterative development workflows.
- Ability to lead technical work independently, make architectural decisions, and communicate trade-offs clearly.
- Comfortable in a remote-first, async-friendly environment with a high degree of autonomy.
Benefits:
- Fully remote role with flexible working hours.
- Start at 4 days per week, transitioning to full-time (5 days) within 3 months.
- Opportunity to work on a genuinely ambitious, original MMO from an early stage.
- Collaborative studio culture that values craft, autonomy, and developer growth.
- Connection to the Realityjam multiplayer development platform and its growing partner ecosystem.
