Fern Park Developmental Center is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Housekeeper to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for the individuals we serve. The Housekeeper plays a vital role in infection prevention, cleanliness, and overall facility safety by ensuring resident living areas, common spaces, offices, and restrooms meet the highest standards of cleanliness.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain all facility floors.
• Wax and maintain floors according to established schedules.
• Dust furniture, appliances, windowsills, blinds, vents, door frames, and picture frames.
• Clean behind and underneath furniture on scheduled rotations.
• Spot clean walls and baseboards as needed.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, showers, sinks, and fixtures daily.
• Restock restroom supplies including soap, paper towels, toilet tissue, and trash liners.
• Clean mirrors, glass doors, windows, and drinking fountains.
• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners throughout the facility.
• Sweep and maintain outside entrances and walkways.
• Clean offices, conference rooms, and administrative areas.
• Respond promptly to spills and wet areas while placing appropriate safety signage.
• Follow manufacturer instructions for cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Adhere to all infection control procedures and safety guidelines.
• Report maintenance issues, repairs, or safety concerns to supervisors promptly.
• Assist in maintaining a safe environment for residents, visitors, and employees.
• Participate in emergency preparedness and disaster response activities.
• Attend required meetings, in-service trainings, and competency-based education.
• Follow all facility policies, procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Immediately report any suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation according to company policy.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous housekeeping or environmental services experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods.
• Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning chemicals.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
