Short Summary:
Payward has spent the last 15 years building a modern financial infrastructure platform. The Data team operates the data infrastructure and analytics platforms that support decision-making and controls across the business. This role focuses on audit readiness from a data standpoint, requiring a background in data architecture and hands-on experience in building data pipelines.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate on technical coordination for shared datasets and systems in scope for audit.
- Spearhead improvements to governance and communication around schema and logic changes.
- Support technical analysis and downstream impact assessment during change management.
- Develop and maintain reusable audit-ready dataset patterns, including automated validation.
- Review processes and datasets for Audit, proposing reengineering opportunities.
- Provide technical guidance to business stakeholders and the Audit PM on specific Audit requests.
Requirement:
- 7+ years of experience in data analytics or data engineering, ideally in internal audit, risk, or SOX compliance within fintech or crypto.
- Experience managing and designing data architecture in a regulated environment.
- Hands-on experience building production data pipelines, with familiarity in dbt and Airflow.
- Mastery of SQL and strong Python proficiency for pipeline development.
- Experience documenting technical and business requirements.
- Familiarity with data administration tasks and partnering with Data Engineering teams.
- Strong communication skills to translate audit and business requirements into technical specifications.
