Short Summary:
As Director of AI Engineering, you will be a hands-on engineering leader responsible for designing, building, and deploying AI-native systems to enhance operational efficiency across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Design, Build, Harden and Deploy End-to-End: Personally ship agentic solutions from scoping the problem to production code and handoff to a maintained system.
- Own the AI Automation Roadmap: Identify and prioritize automation opportunities within internal operations and sequence a roadmap of the highest-leverage builds.
- Lead the Pod as a Player-Coach: Manage a team of 2-4 engineers while staying hands-on in the work.
- Turn Problems into Systems: Conduct discovery with internal teams, map workflows, and design AI-first processes.
- Scout the Tooling Frontier: Influence decisions on new models and frameworks to address operational challenges.
Requirement:
- Software Engineering Foundation: Understanding of system design, deployment, APIs, data flow, and the full SDLC.
- Agentic Fluency and Engineering Depth: Experience with RAG pipelines, vector databases, LLM orchestration, and multi-agent coordination.
- Hands-On Builder: Proven track record of building and deploying AI-powered systems that drove operational outcomes.
- Bias for Speed and Impact: Ability to ship meaningful systems quickly using the latest AI coding tools.
- Structured Communicator: Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and translate feedback into technical requirements.
- Player-Coach: Experience in building and leading high-output technical teams.
