Short Summary:
OpenTag is a well-funded international company in the Sports Betting and iGaming field, focused on creating the best software through empowered teams. They are looking for a Middle Data Engineer to join their R&D team to build, optimize, and maintain their data platform.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain reliable, well-structured data pipelines.
- Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional/non-functional business requirements.
- Contribute to internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and improving scalability.
- Build components for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various sources using SQL and BI technologies.
- Support the development of analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline for actionable insights.
- Create data tools for analysts and data scientists to optimize products.
Requirement:
- Good understanding of relational database logic (CAP and ACID, types of relations, isolation levels).
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and proficiency in SQL query authoring.
- Working knowledge of procedures and functions, performance tuning of SQL queries.
- Solid understanding of ETL logic and DWH principles.
- Nice to have: Experience with Python, big data tools (Spark, Airflow), NoSQL databases, DBT, stream-processing systems (Kafka, Storm), and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
