Short Summary:
As a Senior QA Engineer, you will ensure the quality, reliability, and stability of the Digital banking platform, working closely with various teams throughout the software development lifecycle. This role requires both manual and automation testing.
Responsibilities:
- Test Planning & Execution
- Analyse business requirements and user stories to identify test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
- Design, execute, and maintain manual test cases for functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
- Validate customer journeys across web applications, mobile applications, and backend services.
- Maintain requirement-to-test traceability and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Perform exploratory testing to identify usability and functional gaps.
- Test Automation
- Design, develop, and maintain automated regression test suites using Playwright.
- Contribute to mobile automation using Maestro (preferred).
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines where applicable.
- Continuously improve automation coverage and reduce manual testing effort.
- API & Backend Testing
- Perform API testing using Postman or equivalent tools.
- Validate REST APIs, request/response payloads, business rules, and error handling.
- Execute SQL queries to verify backend data integrity and validate business transactions.
- Quality Engineering
- Identify, document, and track defects using GitHub or equivalent tools.
- Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, and sprint reviews to identify quality risks early.
- Collaborate closely with developers to improve application testability and overall product quality.
- Analyse defect trends and recommend preventive improvements.
- Contribute to continuous improvements in QA processes, standards, and automation practices.
Requirement:
- Must have 7+ years of experience in software quality assurance with strong experience in both manual and automation testing.
- Experience working in a Fintech/Digital bank/Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) provider/Payment platform.
- Strong understanding of digital banking products such as customer onboarding, identity verification, lending, deposits, payments, or customer servicing.
- Hands-on experience developing and maintaining automation using Playwright.
- Strong API testing experience using Postman or similar tools.
- Experience using GitHub or similar tools for defect tracking and collaboration.
- Working knowledge of SQL for backend data validation.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, SDLC, STLC, and defect lifecycle management.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across product, engineering, and business teams.
- Self-driven, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced product environment.
