Short Summary:
At Koala Health, we aim to simplify pet health management. This role involves assisting in the retrieval, processing, and fulfillment of pets’ medication therapies while contributing to the development of operational policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Assist pharmacist in retrieving prescription refills from veterinarian prescribers
- Follow up with patients to clarify questions and provide updates on their orders
- Assist pharmacist in filling prescription items, as permitted by the state board of pharmacy
- Run automated machinery required to pre-sort and package medications
- Fill exception trays with appropriate medication
- Transition orders through different workflow stages from initial dispense through quality control
- Count and fill prescription vials and affix labels on bulk prescription items
- Pack and ship completed orders including printing and affixing appropriate labels
- Sort and triage the right boxes to ship at the right time
- Aid the Operations team with receiving, shipping, counting, and packing
- Clean and help maintain equipment and work areas
Requirement:
- Willingness and ability to obtain a Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy Registered Technician Trainee License
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 6+ months of experience working with computer and web-based tools
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for an 8-hour shift
- Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member
- Demonstrated organization skills and attention to detail
- Ability to recognize and identify patient medications
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a rapidly evolving startup environment
- Experience working in a fast-paced work environment while consistently meeting standards for productivity and quality
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized, self-starter capable of working independently
