Short Summary:
Kick is a global live-streaming platform focused on empowering content creators and event organizers. The Senior Frontend Engineer will be part of the Video and Ads team, responsible for enhancing user experience through video playback and frontend interfaces.
Responsibilities:
- Architect and develop frontend solutions for the video player, ensuring high performance for VOD and live streaming.
- Implement ad-tech integrations with third-party vendors to optimize CPM and user engagement.
- Build interfaces for creators to manage their streams and engagement.
- Optimize playback experiences for low latency and high quality.
- Collaborate with other frontend teams to ensure cohesive user experiences across devices.
- Own the feature lifecycle from requirement gathering to deployment.
- Resolve issues through collaboration with operations teams and creators.
- Use metrics to guide architectural decisions and optimizations.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly with stakeholders.
- Mentor mid-level engineers on the team.
Requirement:
- 5+ years in frontend web development (React/TypeScript).
- Expertise in video player and advertising technology in a streaming environment.
- Experience with VOD and live streaming implementations, particularly ad insertion.
- Proficiency in TypeScript, React, Next.js, GraphQL, and Tailwind CSS.
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration.
- Proven track record in building design systems and complex user interfaces.
- Strong problem-solving skills in a dynamic environment.
