Short Summary:
Habitat Health empowers older adults through the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), providing comprehensive medical care and support for daily needs. The Associate General Counsel will provide legal support to a fast-growing company, focusing on People/HR and Product/AI teams, and guiding the company’s Privacy program.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive legal counsel on People Team operations, ensuring compliance with employment law.
- Support the Product Team in driving innovation through technology and AI, with a focus on healthcare regulations.
- Advise on compliance with privacy-related laws and regulations, including HIPAA and CPRA.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks across operations and contracts.
- Ensure company practices align with applicable laws and regulations.
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts.
- Manage relationships with outside law firms.
- Serve as a legal advisor to executives and business units.
Requirement:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the relevant state bar association, ideally California.
- Meaningful legal leadership experience, ideally a mix of in-house and law firm experience.
- Experience supporting HR, Product, and Privacy teams, with an understanding of applicable regulations.
- Deep understanding of healthcare regulatory frameworks and experience engaging with regulatory bodies.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
