SUMMARY
Ensures guest rooms and lodges are clean and in good repair with hotel standards in a timely fashion.
A key part of every employee's job is to serve as a Targhee ambassador, engaging the guest at every opportunity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and assigned work to ensure cleanliness, presentation, and quality meet Grand Targhee Resort standards. Conduct detailed room inspections to verify all housekeeping assignments have been completed accurately and report any deficiencies for immediate correction.
- Use housekeeping equipment safely and properly and ensure it is maintained in good working condition. Report damaged, malfunctioning, or improperly used equipment to management.
- Perform housekeeping and houseperson duties as needed to support operational needs and maintain service standards.
- Communicate room status updates promptly to the Executive Housekeeping Manager and Housekeeping Supervisor to ensure clean rooms are released as quickly as possible for arriving guests.
- Report room discrepancies, including late checkouts, stayovers, maintenance concerns, out-of-order rooms, or other issues that may impact room availability.
- Ensure housekeepers and housepersons are adequately stocked with linens, cleaning supplies, amenities, and equipment necessary to perform their duties efficiently.
- Work collaboratively with the Executive Housekeeping Manager, Housekeeping Supervisor, Maintenance, Front Desk, and fellow housekeeping team members to ensure seamless daily operations.
- Assist with training and mentoring new housekeeping team members on Grand Targhee Resort cleaning standards, safety procedures, service expectations, and departmental policies.
- Assist with inventory organization, stocking supply closets throughout each shift.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and communicate completed inspections, deficiencies, and follow-up actions to management.
- Assist with special projects, deep-cleaning initiatives, and other departmental duties as assigned.
- Participate in cross-training and job sharing as needed to support departmental and resort operational requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY:
- Protect the safety of self, workers, and Grand Targhee Resort guests.
- Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.
- Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor.
- Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Resort’s Occupational Safety & Health Compliance Manual and department-specific procedures or manuals.
- Operate equipment safely so that it will not lead to injury to yourself or others.
- Drive in accordance with the law and Grand Targhee Resort policies.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the Executive Housekeeping Manager or Housekeeping Supervisor, including assigning work, monitoring productivity, and ensuring departmental standards are maintained.
WORK SCHEDULE
Due to the nature of the food and beverage industry, we are in operation seven days a week. This includes weekends and holidays, and there is no guarantee of hours. Flexible working hours may be required based on business levels.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED preferred. Three to six months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Able to accurately read and make measurements.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Excellent verbal communication skills.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
