Short Summary:
We are looking for a passionate and talented Applied Machine Learning Scientist to join our Recommendation Ranking team, developing Machine Learning models to enhance the shopping experience for over 90 million buyers.

Responsibilities:
- Work closely with software engineers, data scientists, product managers, and designers to set the future technical direction of Etsy’s recommendation system.- Push the state of the art and apply the latest advances in ML to improve buyer and seller experiences.- Build user models to understand buyers' interests and shopping missions.- Develop models for personalized ranking and multi-objective optimization.- Design foresight and intent prediction models.- Improve feed reactivity and freshness of recommendations.- Prototype, optimize, and productionize large-scale ML models.- Conduct experiments to validate the effectiveness of ML models and pipelines.

Requirement:
- Successful track record of applying machine learning techniques to real-world problems.- Experience in deep learning, multi-modal learning, reinforcement learning, etc.- Hands-on experience in training, deploying, and monitoring production machine learning systems.- Production experience in developing large-scale ML systems in Python, Scala, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar.- M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related fields with at least two years of practical machine learning experience.
