Short Summary:
As a Principal Data Engineer, you will design and implement software solutions that turn millions of electric vehicles, smart thermostats, batteries, and other energy IoT devices into resources that help create a cleaner and more resilient grid.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement systems for ingesting and managing data from core utility software systems.
- Operate independently to find potential solutions, design them, and identify roadblocks.
- Build influence across teams to take on initiatives impacting the whole company.
- Develop new ways of connecting systems to energy markets.
- Collaborate with analytics and machine learning teams to deliver new data insights.
- Improve the scale, automation, and reliability of data pipelines.
- Mentor early career engineers and contribute to team culture.
Requirement:
- 10+ years professional software development experience.
- Python and SQL experience required.
- Experience building out data pipelines and ELT/ETL systems.
- Comfortable leading system design and architecture.
- Experience with data warehouses (Snowflake) and data modeling.
