Back-End Developer

Employment: Full-time Salary: $2,900–3,500 net (depending on interview results and experience) Probation Period: 1 month (salary during probation depends on the candidate's actual range) About the Project We're building a high-load betting engine with real-time interaction: round lifecycle management, outcome and payout calculation, synchronized broadcasting, and front-running protection. The stack is modern, and the challenges revolve around latency, consistency, and reliability under load. Our Tech Stack Node.js · TypeScript · Express 5 · PostgreSQL/Prisma · Redis · Kafka/KafkaJS · ClickHouse · WebSocket/Socket. IO · PostHog · Pino · Vitest · Docker Responsibilities Design and develop the betting engine using Node.js, TypeScript, and Express 5: round lifecycle, outcome and payout calculation, idempotent operations. Implement the real-time layer with WebSocket/Socket. IO, featuring synchronized broadcast delays (bet-lock, front-running protection). Build event-driven pipelines with Kafka/KafkaJS and analytics/anti-fraud storage on ClickHouse. Integrate HLS feed parsing (.m3u8) and a computer vision service; implement provably-fair (commit-reveal) mechanisms. Work with PostgreSQL/Prisma and Redis (caching, round state management, rate-limiting); set up observability (PostHog, Pino). Ensure reliability: testing (Vitest), containerization (Docker/Compose), feed fault tolerance (failover, auto-void). Requirements (must-have) 3+ years of back-end development experience with Node.js and TypeScript. Hands-on experience with real-time/WebSocket and high-load services (latency, concurrency, consistency). Confident work with PostgreSQL and Redis; understanding of transactions, idempotency, and race conditions. Experience with message brokers (Kafka or similar) and building event-driven pipelines. Understanding of service reliability: logging, metrics, failure handling, testing. Experience in the iGaming/Betting industry. Nice to Have ClickHouse or other analytical/column-oriented databases; anti-fraud logic. Experience with video streaming (HLS/RTMP), computer vision, provably-fair/cryptography (HMAC).
