Short Summary:
Datadog is looking for a Lead Designer to evolve its brand identity and create a scalable design system that enhances brand expression across all customer touchpoints. This role requires a hands-on approach to design, combining strategic thinking with deep expertise in brand identity and visual language.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the evolution of Datadog’s visual identity and establish the quality bar for brand expression across every touchpoint.
- Build brand systems, templates, asset libraries, and guidelines for high-quality work.
- Design and steward a scalable, Figma-native brand system.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver cohesive, high-impact creative experiences.
- Create tools, documentation, and workflows to enable and influence designers.
- Present design concepts to stakeholders, influencing decisions through visual storytelling.
- Help define the evolution of Datadog’s brand design practice.
- Utilize AI-assisted workflows to build scalable brand systems.
Requirement:
- 8+ years of experience in graphic design and brand development.
- Strong visual design foundation, including typography, layout, color, and hierarchy.
- Deep Figma expertise: component architecture, style and variable systems.
- Experience building large-scale brand systems or Figma libraries from scratch.
- Experience mentoring other designers.
- Strong taste and ability to defend design decisions.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with evolving priorities.
- Daily use of AI tools for design processes.
