Responsibilities The COBRA Administration Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely administration of Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA) benefits in compliance with federal regulations and organizational policies. This position administers the full lifecycle of COBRA and Cal-COBRA activities, including qualifying event processing, participant notifications, premium collection coordination, eligibility maintenance, and customer support. The specialist serves as a subject matter expert on COBRA regulations, partners with internal departments and vendors, and ensures compliance with all applicable legal requirements while providing exceptional service to COBRA-qualified beneficiaries and their dependents. Qualifications Education o High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE), or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required o Associate’s Degree or higher in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred Experience o Minimum of two (2) years of experience administering COBRA, employee benefits, or human resource operations required o Experience using HRIS, benefits administration systems, or COBRA administration platforms (such as QNXT) required o Experience working with third-party COBRA administrators and insurance carriers preferred Licenses and Certifications o Professional certifications such as CEBS, SHRM-CP, PHR, or related benefits certifications are preferred Disclaimers• Pay ranges listed are an estimate and subject to change.
