Short Summary:
Cloudflare is seeking a hands-on senior engineer for their IAM team, responsible for authentication and authorization systems at a global scale. The role involves developing high-throughput, low-latency IAM capabilities and improving systems while serving production traffic.

Responsibilities:
- Feature development: design and build high-throughput, low-latency IAM capabilities for customer-facing and internal service APIs.
- System evolution: contribute to the design and evolution of authentication and authorization systems into modern architectures.
- API and system design: translate product and security requirements into robust APIs and technical specifications.
- Engineering excellence: maintain high standards through thorough code reviews and collaborative problem-solving.
- Operational stewardship: ensure platform reliability under constant load, with built-in observability and resilience.
- AI-assisted development: utilize AI tools throughout the workflow, applying judgment on their use.

Requirement:
- 5-8 years of experience building and operating production systems at scale.
- Working knowledge of identity protocols (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, RBAC/ABAC).
- Hands-on experience with identity protocols or fine-grained authorization systems in production.
- Proficiency in languages like Go and Typescript.
- Experience designing and building REST APIs.
- PostgreSQL and Redis experience.
- Strong intuition in distributed systems.
- High standards for correctness and security; self-directed and comfortable resolving ambiguous problems.
