Short Summary:
Help keep Cedar Rapids moving safely by maintaining signs, pavement markings, and traffic control devices. Opportunities to learn, grow, and make an impact in a community-focused environment.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain signs, pavement markings, and traffic control devices.
- Perform manual labor and use hand tools to supplement equipment operations.
- Assist in snow removal and maintenance of City streets and right of ways.
- Participate in painting street markings and installation of traffic control devices.
- Operate welding and cutting equipment, and perform rough carpentry.
- Attend work regularly and support continuous process improvement initiatives.
Requirement:
- High school diploma/GED.
- Valid driver's license (Class A CDL with endorsements obtainable within 1 year).
- Ability to perform manual labor and work collaboratively with a diverse population.
- Willingness to work overtime and report within 30 minutes for emergencies.
- For II: Two years’ work experience in installation of traffic control devices or equivalent experience.
