JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

The Clayton Police Department is accepting applications for a Substitute Crossing Guard.

Applications can be found at www.claytonnj.com type in “employment” in the search

bar. Applications must then be printed out on paper and completed by hand. Applicants

may also pick up paper applications directly at the Clayton Municipal Office (125 North

Delsea Dr. Clayton NJ 08312) during normal business hours.

All applications and resumes must be delivered in person to the Clayton Borough Clerk

between 8AM and 4PM on normal business days. Applications will be accepted from the

time of posting until 4:00 PM on Monday, August 10th 2026.

Any applicant must meet the following minimum requirements:

1. Is a citizen of the U.S.A. and resident of NJ.
2. Is of good moral character.
3. Has not been convicted of any criminal offense involving moral turpitude.
4. Is in good physical condition, including sight, hearing, and mobility.
5. Is mentally alert.
6. Has a neat appearance.
7. Is dependable.
8. Has a sense of responsibility for the safety of students.
9. Must pass a background investigation.
10. Must pass a drug screening test.
11. Must be able to pass a medical physical fitness assessment.

The position will also be subject to other duties and responsibility as set forth in the job

description /Clayton Police Policy on file with the Clayton Borough Clerk.
