Short Summary:
As a Logistics Specialist, you will own the inbound and outbound dock operation, coordinating directly with carriers and suppliers to build and maintain a daily dock schedule that maximizes throughput across a single dock door.
Responsibilities:
- Own the daily dock schedule, coordinating appointment windows for all inbound receipts and outbound shipments.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for carriers and suppliers.
- Monitor inbound and outbound shipment status in real time.
- Receive, verify, and document all inbound deliveries against purchase orders.
- Coordinate outbound staging and carrier pickup.
- Maintain the dock area in compliance with safety and housekeeping standards.
- Partner with internal teams to align dock scheduling with operational priorities.
- Support process improvement initiatives.
Requirement:
- 2+ years in a logistics, shipping/receiving, or warehouse coordination role.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Prior hands-on experience working with LTL, parcel, and/or freight carriers preferred.
- Proven ability to manage a dynamic dock schedule.
- Clear, professional communicator.
- Working knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets; familiarity with a WMS or TMS preferred.
- Strong sense of urgency and ownership over dock throughput outcomes.
- Attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.
