Short Summary:
The Junior IT Specialist will provide day-to-day IT support and assist the IT team in maintaining hardware and software systems, including troubleshooting user issues and assisting with network and security operations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide first-line technical support for hardware, software, network, and system-related issues
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, and printers
- Perform device setup, re-imaging, and deployment of hardware equipment as required in a 24/7 operational environment
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic IT incidents and service requests
- Monitor IT systems and escalate complex issues to IT staff when necessary
- Support software installations, updates, and patch management activities
- Maintain accurate records of IT assets, support tickets (JIRA), and system documentation
- Participate in routine maintenance of networks, servers, and cloud-based services
- Follow company security policies and support cybersecurity best practices
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient technology support
Requirement:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Good knowledge of Linux operating systems (an advantage)
- Good knowledge of Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and common business applications
- Good knowledge of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and Wi-Fi (an advantage)
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently or as part of a team
