Short Summary:
The Safeguards team is responsible for ensuring models and products are developed and deployed safely. The Engineering Manager will lead the Review Tooling team, building systems for investigating potential harms and enforcing actions across products and platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, grow, and develop a team of engineers building investigation, review, and enforcement tooling.
- Define the vision and roadmap for the review tooling platform.
- Drive the team's strategy for scaling review through automation.
- Partner with policy, operations, legal, privacy, and data science stakeholders.
- Ensure review tooling evolves alongside new privacy primitives and data retention commitments.
- Create clarity for the team and stakeholders in an ambiguous environment.
- Take an inclusive approach to hiring and coaching top technical talent.
- Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives.
Requirement:
- Experience managing software engineering teams, including hiring and coaching.
- A technical background in full-stack or platform engineering.
- Experience shipping internal tools or platforms with demanding operational users.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Care about the societal impacts of AI.
