Short Summary:
AM General develops and builds specialized ground vehicle systems for the US Armed Services and allies, focusing on delivering advanced mobility solutions. The role involves establishing quality standards, leading problem-solving initiatives, and coaching engineers.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain Product Quality Standards in compliance with requirements.
- Lead APQP planning, validation, and execution for new programs.
- Develop and deploy Quality Plans and ensure effective production Quality Control Loops.
- Lead cross-functional problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee development and improvement of Quality procedures and processes.
- Serve as the primary Quality interface with various departments.
- Manage Quality System changes for new model introductions and transitions.
- Coach and develop Quality Engineers for technical competency and compliance.
Requirement:
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related field preferred.
- 5+ years of automotive engineering experience preferred.
- Knowledge of AIAG Core Tools, ISO, and IATF 16949.
- Experience in automotive assembly or manufacturing plant environment preferred.
- Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills.
