Airwallex is a unified payments and financial platform for global businesses, empowering over 250,000 businesses worldwide. The Regulatory & Compliance Division is focused on safeguarding operations and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Airwallex Group’s expansion by managing regulatory compliance components of licence authorisation processes.
- Act as a key stakeholder in licence applications, business plan updates, and information requests between Airwallex and regulators.
- Maintain regulatory compliance and reporting obligations for all Airwallex Group entities in the UK.
- Support/manage on-site exams, inspections, and audits.
- Advise on regulatory change initiatives and manage compliance risk.
- Develop policies and provide advice on regulatory risk obligations.
- Manage regulatory compliance risk within the Airwallex Risk Management Framework.
- Advise on conduct risk, Consumer Duty, and ethics matters.
- Deliver the Compliance Monitoring Program and Compliance Training for employees.
- Conduct ‘Proactive Special Ops’ projects to unlock business or operational issues.
Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree with regulatory compliance experience in a financial institution, FinTech, or legal/consulting firm (minimum 4 years for Senior Associate; minimum 6 years for Manager).
- Familiarity with financial regulatory laws and industry best practices in the UK (specifically FCA-regulated environments).
- Data proficiency and ability to leverage data for strategic decision-making.
- Superior communication skills to explain complex topics to various stakeholders.
- Experience with compliance programs within a financial institution, preferably in payments and e-money activity.
- Understanding of financial products and related conduct risk, ethics, and controls.
