Short Summary:
AirGarage is on a mission to bring real estate online, starting with parking. We replace broken parking machines and manual operations with a unified, data-rich operating system for parking real estate.
Responsibilities:
- Own the books, end to end: Lead the monthly close and continuously shorten it.
- Convert us to true accrual accounting: Design and implement proper GAAP revenue recognition.
- Lead the ERP migration: Own our transition from QuickBooks to a modern ERP.
- Rebuild the chart of accounts: Rationalize our account structure for clean reporting.
- Connect accounting to our data systems: Ensure accounting systems agree with operational systems.
- Own indirect tax and compliance: Manage parking taxes and regulatory fees.
- Get us audit-ready: Establish controls and processes for financial statement audits.
- Level up the team: Manage, mentor, and develop our in-house accountants.
- Partner across the business: Ensure accurate billing, collection, and reporting of revenue.
- Support financial reporting: Deliver timely, accurate monthly financials.
Requirement:
- CPA (or equivalent) with command of GAAP, especially revenue recognition.
- Experience as the senior-most accounting owner at a venture-backed company.
- Led a move off QuickBooks onto a modern ERP.
- Experience converting cash-basis books to full accrual.
- Prepared a company for financial statement audits.
- Comfortable working alongside data teams and designing automated processes.
- Experience in multi-location, multi-jurisdiction, revenue-share businesses.
- Strongly preferred: Big Four or top regional firm foundation plus startup experience.
