Senior Backend Engineer

About the Role We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale the backend services powering our AI platform. You'll develop high-performance APIs and distributed systems, optimize cloud infrastructure, and collaborate with Product, AI, Mobile, and DevOps teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions used by enterprise customers. Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable backend systems, services, and APIs. - Translate business requirements into scalable, reliable, and maintainable solutions. Improve the reliability, observability, and performance of existing systems. - Troubleshoot production issues and perform fixes or enhancements. Integrate third-party APIs and cloud services. - Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code. - Participate in code reviews, release processes, and contribute to engineering best practices. - Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes. - Work with containerized applications and Kubernetes-based deployments. - Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams. Qualifications Required - 7+ years of commercial Python development experience. - Strong knowledge of Python 3.x and the standard library. - Excellent knowledge of Django and its ecosystem. - Deep understanding of concurrent programming (multithreading, multiprocessing, asyncio). - Experience with asynchronous frameworks (FastAPI, aiohttp) - Strong understanding of OOP, SOLID, DRY, and KISS principles. - Deep understanding of RDBMS(PostgreSQL) and NoSQL systems. - Experience working with ORMs (Django ORM, SQLAlchemy). - Experience designing and building distributed systems. - Experience with AWS services, containerization, Git, and CI/CD pipelines. - Experience with Celery, Redis, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging systems. - Experience integrating third-party APIs. - Experience writing automated tests using pytest and unittest. - Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and participating in code reviews, design discussions, and release cycles. - Ability to write clean, structured, and maintainable code. - Upper-Intermediate (B2+) English or higher with strong written and verbal communication skills. - Experience using AI-assisted development tools to improve development productivity and code quality. - Comfortable leveraging modern AI tools for code generation, debugging, documentation, testing, and research while maintaining high engineering standards. - Ability to effectively use AI-powered development tools to accelerate software delivery and improve engineering efficiency. Location - Fully remote. - Comfortable collaborating across European and US time zones.
